Achour & Hajek attorney Andrea Schelleová provided a statement to ČTK (Czech Press Agency) following the entry of a seventh company on the public contract black list kept by the Czech Office for the Protection of Competition.
Introduced almost four years ago, the black list does not appear to have been very successful. In its first two and half years, only one entity was recorded in the ban list for public contracts; currently it names seven suppliers, but none is in the prohibition list for concession contracts. These numbers testify to the rather formalistic use of the black list, which should be deployed significantly more in the fight against corruption.
